SCHOOL REGULATIONS

  • Students should arrive at the school at least 15 minutes before assembly. No one who has been late may be admitted to class without an admittance slip from the office.
  • Silence within the classroom is mandatory. While changing classrooms, show concern for other classes in progress.
  • Books, magazines, comics or newspapers may not be brought to the school without explicit permission.
  • Damage to school property is repaired at the cost of the responsible party.
  • The school is not responsible for goods lost. Students are advised not to bring valuable articles to school. Bookbags, pencil boxes and tiffin carriers should be marked with the student's name.
  • In case of a contagious disease in their homes, the students should not return to school without the usual clearance from the doctor.
  • Any student found using unfair means during an examination will be debarred from further examinations and is liable to be detained/expelled.
  • When school is in session, parents should not visit the classes or teachers without explicit permission.
  • Students are advised not to buy food from the hawkers who crowd around the school. However, the canteen facility may be made available within the campus for a limited period of time during the school hours. Only such snacks and soft drinks will be sold in the canteen as permitted by the school.
  • If a student misses any of the class tests, no provision will be made for a retest. Continuous assessment is also supplemented by projects, quizzes and co-curricular activities.
  • A student who is not habitually clean or properly dressed in the school uniform, will be sent home.
  • No Narayan World student is permitted to drive a motorized vehicle without the written permission of the parents and the Principal.
  • Students are not permitted to leave the school campus at any time during the school hours. Parents are advised NOT to request the office for such permission.
  • Parents are advised not to send a sick child to school only for tests or for Semester exams.
  • No provision is made for supplementary test for those who remain absent from tests and terminal examinations. No provision for re-examination or promotion on trial is made for failed
  • Students are forbidden to strew the wrappers of the chocolates and other edibles items anywhere in the campus other than the dustbins provided at different corners in the campus.
  • The facility of a bookstore will made available in the School campus for the convenience of the students. It will be for the purpose of having an easy access to textbooks, note books and school stationery.

No student is permitted to bring any electronic gadgets like mobiles, cameras, I-pods etc to school. If found, the gadgets will be confiscated and will not be returned.

Anyone who seeks to influence the decision of the Management with regard to admissions by bringing letters of recommendation, attempting to offer, or even hinting at offering a donation, that particular candidate will have his/her name automatically struck from the registration list.

ABSENCE

All absence from school, even with prior permission of the Principal, must be explained by the parent, in the "Absence Record" which is found in this Prospectus, before it can be condoned and the student is admitted into class. If the leave is more than three days, besides the note in the Prospectus, an explanation in a separate letter must be added and sanctioned by the Principal/Vice-Principal.

Without prior permission, absence of a month [or more than three days before or after a vacation,] renders the student liable to have his/her name removed from the rolls and must submit to a formal re-admission by paying a fee of Rs. 500/- when he/she returns, provided his/her place has not been given to another applicant.

SUSPENSION AND DISMISSAL

The Principal reserves to himself/herself, the right to dismiss from the school any student whose conduct is, in his/her opinion, against the moral tone of the school. Immorality in word or deed, willful damage to school property, grave insubordination, contempt of any authority, unsatisfactory progress in studies, lack of diligence, are sufficient grounds for dismissal. The Principal is the sole judge regarding the dismissal of a student. Parents/guardians, when they apply for their ward's admission to Narayan World, are understood to accept his/her judgement in such matters as final.

The Principal also reserves to himself/herself the right to suspend a student from attendance at the school and to determine the period of suspension, depending on the gravity of the misdemeanor.

WITHDRAWAL

For withdrawal of a student, at least THIRTY DAYS notice in writing must be given to the Principal failing which, a month's fees will be charged, in lieu thereof.

A transfer certificate will be issued only after obtaining a clearance certificate stating that all dues have been paid and the school's library books and property have been returned.

HOMEWORK

The school diary has been planned with a view to help students in their studies and to inculcate the habit of doing assigned work regularly. Students are advised to take down the instructions given by the teachers regarding homework. Students are not to ask parents to do the homework for them. They are to seek their guidance only. Students must remember the homework instructions given by the teachers before they start work at home.
